BE THE CHANGE

Want some small steps that – taken collectively –  will lead to big change?

Here are 5 ideas to consider:

1. Sign the Pledge
(and do the things)

The Anavo Pledge is simple — and signing gives you a roadmap to eating more in line with your values while joining an exciting movement.

The movement is smart, inclusive, and not far-fetched… it’s basically returning to a way we used to farm – and consequently eat – as a viable solution to so many of our problems.

You may not grow your own food or buy a share in a cow for your deep freeze — but that’s okay! Let the Pledge show you how to help bring regenerative agriculture mainstream, today.

2. Watch a Movie
(specifically THIS movie)

Narrated by Woody Harrelson, Kiss the Ground beautifully illuminates the surprising science behind this one concept:  if we heal the soil, we heal ourselves and the planet.

Since the Industrial Revolution began in 1750, we've pumped about 1,000 billion tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. It's called our “legacy load” of carbon.

We don’t need to slow carbon emissions. We need to sequester the carbon.

Let this documentary entertain you as you learn how the answer is truly under our feet.

3. Get Some Backyard Chickens

Anavo Founder has kept chickens for the two decades, everywhere from cold places like Bozeman, MT, and urban places like Los Angeles.

Today at the Anavo Farm in Santa Ynez Valley, CA, her love of chicken keeping was passed down to her son, Sky, and he keeps a flock of 20+ chickens … and even runs a pasture-raised egg business.

Chickens are the “gateway drug” for connecting to your land, and knowing where a protein comes from. Chickens are also incredible composters — you can feed them your food scraps and they beautifully turn it into food.

Check out Anavo’s “Backyard Chicken Keeping Series” on YouTube to see if you too might want to add some composting cuties to your backyard.

4. Come Visit

Anavo hosts immersive farm-to-table experiences as well as offers a cozy farm stay in the tré popular “Chic Sheep Retreat” B-n-B.

Nestled in the heart of Central Coast wine country, Anavo opens its pasture gates to share the magical property with fellow animal-loving foodies.

Barely two hours from Los Angeles and a scenic four-hour drive from San Francisco, entering the Santa Ynez Valley feels like dropping into the Tuscany of California. You’ll find more than 100 wineries, incredible food, and a unique, rich heritage.

5. Support Our Work

Anavo is the lifelong dream of the founder, Jen Boulden, who helped bring green living mainstream, and is now leading a charge for soil health + farm animal welfare.

Jen’s past endeavor, Ideal Bite, amassed over 900,000 subscribers to the daily email because people loved the approach — it was down-to-earth, entertaining, and impactful.
